Engagements are becoming increasingly creative, but this virtual reality proposal is unlike any we’ve every seen before.
First, let’s meet the joyful couple!
The Couple
Frankie Grande
If the name sounds familiar, it may be due to his famous little sister- Ariana Grande. Side note– Ariana was married just a few days before Grande planned to propose!
But Frankie is a celeb in his own rite.
He’s a professional dancer, actor, singer, producer, tv host, and YouTuber. His Broadway performances include Rock of Ages and Mamma Mia! and he’s also produced a few of them– like Hamlet, La Bete, and Born Yesterday.
In addition, Grande has performed in countless off broadway shows, appeared on reality tv shows, and hosted numerous awards shows.
You never know he’ll pop up next.
Hale Leon
Leon is a model and commercial actor. He’s starred in short films like Sweet and Sour and My Piano Lesson, according to his IMDB profile.
His Instagram profile also states he’s Twitch partner. We’re positive we’ll be seeing more of Leon soon!
How did Frankie Grande and Hale Leon meet?
The couple met at Los Angeles’s oldest gay club called Oil Can Harry’s (the establishment has since been sold and will soon become a jazz club).
As the name suggests, the club had a country, western vibe. It’s no surprise that Leon caught Grande’s eye when he was line dancing on the bar back in 2019.
Grande says it was ‘love at first site’ and couldn’t wait to meet the two-stepper. He wasted no time introducing himself to Leon, and the rest is history.
The Proposal
Grande proposed in epic fashion– during a virtual reality experience at Dreamscape in Los Angeles with friends and family in attendance! He planned the evening, and told Hale the celebration was for his personal four-year sober anniversary.
This location also happened to be where one of their first dates took place. The virtual reality adventure featured an intergalactic virtual fireworks that displayed a special “Will you marry me?” message for Leon.
There was a bit of tradition sprinkled in as well. Frankie got down on one knee amid the virtual reality experience to seal the deal.
The couple quickly dished out the news on their social media accounts!
The Rings
Now, what we’ve all been waiting for! Grande proposed to boyfriend Hale Leon with matching diamond bands from David Yurman.
The rings feature 2.76 carats of pave diamonds arranged in a cable pattern, and the each reportedly retail for $10, 250 per Page Six.
