De Beers and Namibian Government Launch Diamond Recovery Vessel

Mining and Exploration10:35Mining company De Beers and the government of Namibia officially unveiled ɑ new diamond recovery vessel: ‘Benguela Gem’. The vessel will commence operations from next week.
According to De Beers Group, it is ɑ custom-built vessel that combines the latest technology and fully integrated design to achieve unrivaled efficiency, reliability and accuracy. The ‘Benguela Gem’ will add 500,000 carats of high-value diamonds to Debmarine Namibia’ѕ annual production. Debmarine is ɑ 50/50 joint venture between De Beers Group and the Government of Namibia. De Beers CEO Bruce Cleaver also added the Benguela Gem is the first of its kind and will support ɑ long-term, sustainable future for Namibia’ѕ diamond sector.
